东汉张仲景的《伤寒论》《金匮要略》，是中医临床治疗学的基本读物，历来称为经典著作，所以书内所用方剂又称为经方。近代著名中医曹颖甫,名 家达,号 拙巢（一八六六一一一九二七）,治医专宗张仲景，深研这二部书，以善用经方闻于时。生平医案，曾由其门人姜佐龄辑录为三卷，也附入了自己和同门的个别治验，搜集见闻，发挥心得，逐案说解、阐发，以佐证曹氏辨证施治的确切。通过曹氏审阅后，复逐案加以评语，师生商讨，从实践到理论，相互琢磨，名其书曰《经方实验录》，由千顷堂出版于一九三七年，再版于一九四七年。解放以来，读者对本书的需要仍繁，我们现在重加整理，删去其说解芜冗者，修饰其词句未妥者，仍分上、中、下三卷，共计九十二案，内有十六案，标明为附列门人医案。——民间中医志愿编撰组
